One palette, room by room
A five-material palette was set at the start and applied to every room, so each phase joined the last seamlessly.
Whole-home design · Hillsborough, Peninsula · 2024
A large house that had been decorated in pieces over twenty years. Our task was to make it read as one building again.

The brief
The approach
01
A five-material palette was set at the start and applied to every room, so each phase joined the last seamlessly.
02
Work moved floor by floor, with a clean, liveable boundary at every stage.
03
We catalogued existing furniture first; a third of it was restored and kept, which funded better new pieces elsewhere.
04
A single lighting language — warm, layered, dimmed low — ties rooms of very different scale together.

The outcome
“Guests can't tell which rooms are new. That was exactly the point.”
